Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising residents in the Holyrood area that an on-water training exercise will be taking place today (April 11) and tomorrow (April 12).  Water resources and equipment will be mobilized on Indian Pond, which is near the Holyrood Generating Plant, during the exercise.

March 24, 2016 – Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is advising that the generating units at the Holyrood Thermal Generating Station are currently operating at reduced capacity due to required maintenance. Generation reserves are sufficient and there is no customer impact as a result. Maintenance on the units will be carried out when conditions are suitable for system operations.

Update (Mar. 14, 4:00 p.m.) – The transmission line between Come by Chance and Western Avalon has been returned to service.     Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is advising that one of the transmission lines servicing the Avalon Peninsula (between Come by Chance and Western Avalon) is offline. Crews are currently patrolling the line to investigate the cause.…
