Power Outage Advisory: Extended Planned Power Outage in Coast of Bays region ( April 9)

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising customers in the Coast of Bays region that there will a planned power outage this Sunday (April 9, 2017) to accommodate critical maintenance work on the electricity system.

This power interruption will affect customers in Bay d’Espoir, Fortune Bay and the Connaigre Penninsula (with the exception of McCallum) between 7 am until 1 pm.

The power outage will be extended for customers in the communities of St. Alban’s, Swanger’s Cove, St. Joseph’s Cove, St. Veronica’s, Head of Bay d’Espoir  Milltown and Morrisville until 3 p.m.

This power interruption is necessary in order to facilitate work on the new 230 kV transmission line being constructed between Bay d’Espoir and the Avalon Peninsula.
