Message from the President and CEO

Dear Newfoundlanders and Labradorians,

For more than 70 years, Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro has played a central role in powering our province and supporting the people who call it home. Our teams live and work in communities across Newfoundland and Labrador, and that connection to the people we serve is at the heart of everything we do. We take pride in being the people’s utility that you can count on – providing safe, reliable, and cost-conscious electricity while harnessing sustainable energy opportunities that support long-term prosperity for the people of the province.

In 2025, we remained focused on what matters most to those we serve. We recognize the ongoing cost-of-living pressures facing families and businesses and, working with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, supported meaningful rate mitigation contributions to benefit customers.

At the same time, we continued to look ahead. We advanced initiatives that helped residential and business customers use energy more efficiently, supported electrification and expansion of our province’s electric vehicle charging network, and prepared our system for future demand. We also progressed planning to expand transmission infrastructure in Labrador West – work that is critically important not only for our electricity system, but for the long-term industrial and economic growth of the region and the province.

Our success is driven by our employees, whose expertise, sense of accountability, and pride in their work underpins everything we do. Through our Energy from the Heart Community Program, Hydro and our employees’ generously supported charitable groups and non-profit organizations all around our province through community partnerships, in-kind support and financial donations and volunteering. Our employees dedication reflects the values that guide our organization and ensure we continue to earn the trust placed in us by the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Looking ahead in 2026, we are moving full steam ahead on many new and exciting projects. The energy landscape is changing across our province and country, and we are evolving with it. Going forward, we will be guided by a new 2026-2030 strategic plan, one that sets a clear and focused path while staying firmly grounded in our core mandate as the people’s utility.
