Update – Power Outage Advisory Labrador East 

July 5, 2015

UPDATE – July 5, 9:30AM – The Emergency Power Interruption has been extended to 2:00PM affecting the community of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Sheshatshiu, North West River and Mud Lake.

This emergency power outage is required to conduct necessary repairs on equipment at the Churchill Falls switch yard to ensure customer reliability.

CURRENTLY MOST CUSTOMERS ARE ONLINE THROUGH THE BACK UP GAS TURBINE.

However, the potential for outage still exists for customers in the following areas:

The area spanning from Canadian Side to the Park Store, HVGB dock to North West River, including the communities of North West River and Sheshatshiu.
In Happy Valley- Goose Bay, all customers below the MOT Hill including Mud Lake.
CFB 5 Wing Goose Bay Base.
**Please note: the following customers will not be affected, however, these customers may experience interruptions throughout this time period.
– Customer’s from Park Store (Spruce Park) including all customers to MOT hill.

– Churchill Falls Rd (including the Town Water Supply)

Newfoundland & Labrador Hydro wish to apologize to its customers for any inconvenience this outage may cause.
