4:00 PM – This afternoon we have mobilized all available resources to assist with efforts to fully assess the diesel plant site and establish a plan to safely restore power for customers in Charlottetown and Pinsent’s Arm.

Our crew on the ground is examining the potential to restore power using temporary generation units that were in place at the site prior to the fire.  Our crew is working hard and hope to be able to restore some customers tonight, however, there is a possibility the outage may continue for all customers into tomorrow. We ask that customers continue to prepare for extended outages – please stay safe, check on family and friends, and visit our website and social media sites for updates.

We want to extend our sincere thanks to the Town and local officials, RCMP, the local fire department and volunteers for their assistance and cooperation. We are also extremely grateful to residents in the community who have kindly provided our staff and those who responded to the fire this morning, with food, coffee and other support.
