Public Safety Advisory – Update

December 29th, 2014

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is advising residents, cabin owners and travellers near its hydroelectric systems to continue to use great caution around reservoir areas as water levels remain high and flows are unpredictable.

  • We are continuing to release water at the Star Lake Spillway into Star Brook and then Red Indian Lake in Central Newfoundland.
  • We are continuing to release water at the Granite Canal Bypass structure.
  • We are no longer releasing water at the Burnt Dam Spillway into White Bear River in Central Newfoundland.
  • We are no longer releasing water at North Salmon Dam Spillway into the North Salmon River in Central Newfoundland.
