Public Safety Advisory – Safety around dams and hydroelectric facilities

February 20, 2016

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is reminding people to be safe around dams, dykes and hydroelectric facilities.

Fluctuating temperatures can cause changes in water levels as well as instability and unsafe conditions for activities such as snowmobiling and ATV’ing.

Please use extra caution in Hydro’s watersheds – particulary the Bay d’Espoir area and the Exploits area.

Please visit hydrosafety.ca for information on how to stay safe around dams and more on recreational safety.
