Public Safety Advisory – Controlled Release of Water (January 27, 2014)

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is advising residents, cabin owners and travellers that high water levels continue in some reservoirs. The releases of water have ended for now but may be required again in the following areas:
- In the Star Lake area of Central Newfoundland – the Company may again release water at Star Lake Spillway into Star Brook and then Red Indian Lake.
- In the Granite Canal area accessed from Central Newfoundland – the Company may again release water at the Granite Canal Bypass structure.
- In the North Salmon Dam Spillway into the North Salmon River – the Company may again release water from its North Salmon Dam spillway into the North Salmon River.
