Public Advisory: NL Hydro conducting work on transmission line corridor in areas of Gros Morne National Park

September 4, 2024

Starting on September 3, Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) will be widening the transmission line corridor within the boundaries of Gros Morne National Park in an effort to increase safety and reliability to our customers and the general public.

Two manual cutting crews will begin in the area south of Fox Pond/Bad Weather Pond, working their way north to Southeast Brook. A third crew will start at Berry Hill and work northward to the south end of the Sally’s Cove enclave. This work is expected to be completed by October 10.

Hydro does not anticipate any hunting restrictions in association with this project. Should the work schedule extend into the hunting season, temporary hunting restrictions near active work sites may be imposed to ensure worker and hunter safety. Any notice of temporary hunting restrictions will be posted ahead of time.

The safety of our employees and the public is of utmost importance to Hydro. Please continue to check this page for project updates and work crew locations.
