Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising customers that scheduled work on the 50MW Stephenville gas turbine has been completed and the unit is available for standby service.

The 50MW Hardwoods gas turbine has been taken offline until June 21 for annual seasonal maintenance to ensure continued safe and reliable service for customers.

Hydro’s annual maintenance season generally begins in April when customer demand on the system begins to decline and extends to November in preparation for winter.

There are no anticipated customer impacts related to this equipment work and no customer action is required; however Hydro will provide updates if anything changes.
