Public Advisory – Hydro update on transmission line outage on the Avalon Peninsula

January 28, 2015 – 8:00 AM – Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising that the transmission line that tripped yesterday evening remains out of service.

Last night’s investigation did not reveal the cause of the issue.  Crews will be completing a helicopter inspection this morning.  Currently there is no estimated time for restoration.

There are no customer outages related to the trip.  Hydro is not experiencing any issues with its generation equipment.  Customers are not required to conserve at this time.

This advisory is part of Hydro’s commitment to keep customers informed on the status of the electricity system and significant system events.  Hydro will continue to provide updates on the system status as required.
