Public Advisory: Electrode Line Reinforcement (continuation of 2024 work)
August 19, 2025
Transport Canada Navigation Protection Program: Registry Number 13517 | continuation of work from 2024 (previously posted under Registry #11551)
The electrode line that runs between Indian Pond and Conception Bay has experienced some erosion since operation (2016). The risk of further erosion is present during significant weather events that lead to high waves and storm surged. In order to reduce the risk of damage to the line Hydro plans to add additional armour around the pole structures. This work will be done in the dry but some of the infilling will fall within the high water mark.
This work will include two poles between Indian Pond and Conception Bay being reinforced. One of these poles will have some infilling that falls within the high water mark. All work will be completed with a dump truck and excavator (or other civil like equipment).
Work is expected to run from September 21 – September 30, 2025.
