Outages across the province this morning were caused by a lightning strike in the Bay d’Espoir area which caused the transmission line from Bay d’Espoir to Sunnyside to trip.

Customers are now in the process of being restored.  Generation is not an issue.

Lightning is expected on the island throughout the day – please take cover and go inside during a lightning storm.  Stay safe.
