Responding When Needed Most

December 10, 2024

Crews respond to a tangly situation in Happy Valley- Goose Bay after a loader struck a main line pole in stormy weather.

When a severe snow and wind storm hit most of the province on December 6, crews all across Labrador and the island quickly jumped in to respond to resulting outages. This was very tough work, in extremely difficult weather conditions but we are so lucky to have such amazing, talented crews working across Hydro who were able to safely restore power for our customers.

As Blake Barney, Lines Supervisor, TRO Labrador, said about all our phenomenal TRO crews, “this response sure highlights what we do best!”

About an extended outage that impacted customers in Gaultois, Mike Churchill, Senior Manager, TRO Island, said, “It was a great example of a multi-team approach where all-hands, both on-the-ground and behind-the-scenes, worked in a challenging location and in challenging conditions to ensure power was restored to our customers in Gaultois.”

Thank you so much to everyone, across the province, involved in each of these restorations!
