Muskrat Falls Welcomes STEM for Girls Tour
April 29, 2026
On April 24, 23 students from Mealy Mountain Collegiate in Happy Valley Goose Bay had the opportunity to tour Muskrat Falls thanks to Hydro’s partnership with Equiforce (formerly WRDC).
As part of the STEM for Girls program, the students in grades 10 – 12, visited the site, learned about the inner workings of the station and also had the opportunity to meet with some of the women who are integral to the operation. The girls were able to ask questions about the work they did, why it was important and how they became interested in their field.
This visit was Equiforce’s first in Labrador, and already have interest from other schools to do similar visits. Thanks to Ashley Pilgrim who helped organize the visit and to Bernard Hickey and Janelle Andersen who conducted the tour.
Equiforce has also done tours at our sites in Bay d’Espoir and Exploits. These visits allow students who have an interest in STEM careers to see first-hand what their future can look like.
