On October 28, 2025, Hydro introduced its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology Policy, setting clear requirements for the safe, ethical, and responsible use of AI across our organization.

This new policy was developed in collaboration with internal stakeholders, advisors and industry experts to ensure alignment with professional and industry standards. It applies to everyone at Hydro who uses or plans to use AI technologies in their work.

Key policy requirements include:

  • Responsible data usage
  • Licensing requirements and data models
  • Quality control measures
  • Accountability standards
  • User engagement protocols
  • Defined roles and responsibilities

As technology evolves, AI functionality is becoming increasingly integrated into the tools we use every day. Hydro has recently made some private AI tools available to our teams and is actively exploring other new AI opportunities that are safe, cost-effective, and aligned with our strategic priorities.

Hydro’s AI journey is just beginning, and we are committed to learning and growing together. It is essential to protect our data and intellectual property, maintain transparency, and guard against misuse, biases, and inaccuracies, and we believe this new policy will guide us in the right direction.

Most importantly, while AI can sometimes help us work smarter and faster, it will never replace the extensive expertise and professional judgment of our people.
