Each year, as part of our commitment to safety, Hydro employees participate in our Safety and Health Summit. On March 25, the 18th Safety and Health Summit saw more than 150 people in person and hundreds more online intentionally think about safety and health and how they contribute to Hydro’s safety culture. The day kicked off with Brad Lush sharing why safety is personal to him in a heartfelt safety moment. Our keynote speaker Dan Comiskey talked about the seemingly small choices we make each day that can have an impact on ourselves and those around us, and Dr. Alyson Byrne highlighted the importance of leadership being something we can all exhibit regardless of our formal role.

This year we introduced microlearnings to Summit, and Glenn Langdon, Mike Manuel and Gary Broderick walked us through overviews of electrical safety and safe job planning. In the afternoon, we dove into the results of our 2024 safety culture survey and learned more about what employees and contractors feel about safety at Hydro and then finished out the day with a panel discussion with the Safety Transformation Team who outlined their mandate and current and future initiatives. It was a full day of listening, questioning and learning from industry experts and our peers and helped reiterate the importance of our strong safety culture.
