April 10, 2015 – Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising customers that the 25MW Gas Turbine in Happy Valley Goose Bay is being taken offline from April 13 – May 24 to begin annual maintenance to ensure continued safe and reliable service for our customers.

Hydro’s annual maintenance season generally begins in April when customer demand on the system begins to decline and extends to November in preparation for winter. All planned system outages are evaluated to eliminate or minimize potential customer impact.

There are no anticipated customer impacts related to this equipment outage and no customer action is required; however Hydro will provide updates if anything changes.
