Equipment Advisory (UPDATED) – Hydro advises of transmission line maintenance work
October 6, 2015
UPDATE November 12, 2015 – Work on the transmission line is complete and the line has been returned to service.
—————————————————————————————
October 6, 2015 – Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising of planned maintenance activities on one of its transmission lines servicing the Avalon Peninsula. Work began on October 5 and will continue until mid-November.
A second line, which also services the Avalon, is fully operational and available; therefore there are no customer impacts as a result of this work. In addition, Avalon generation reserves are strong and fully able to meet customer needs. All planned system outages are evaluated to eliminate or minimize potential customer impact. As a precautionary measure only, Hydro would like to remind customers of the importance of being prepared and staying safe in the event of outages.
Hydro’s maintenance program is part of the Company’s mandate to invest in the province’s electricity system to ensure delivery of safe and reliable electricity for customers. This advisory is part of Hydro’s commitment to keep customers informed on the status of the electricity system and system events.
