UPDATE – Gas turbines are now available to the system after completion of maintenance.

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising customers that the Hardwoods Gas Turbine located in Paradise and the Combustion Turbine in Holyrood will be offline for maintenance until Saturday (Oct 24) evening.

All planned equipment outages for maintenance are evaluated to eliminate or minimize potential customer impact.

Generation reserves on Hydro’s system are strong. There are no anticipated customer impacts related to this equipment outage.

This advisory is part of Hydro’s commitment to keep customers informed on the status of the electricity system and significant system events.
