Emergency repairs are required on a piece of equipment on the transmission line serving the Upper Lake Melville area – Saturday, February 29 6AM – 10AM.

While repairs are conducted, Hydro will run available backup generation in an effort to provide power to as many customers as possible, however due to cold temperatures and the resulting high load on the system, some customers will experience a power outage (see full list below). We sincerely apologize for this, however the repair is urgently required to prevent additional issues on the system.

The customers identified below will experience an outage on from 6AM – 10AM on Saturday.

Please be advised that if local electricity load is greater than the backup generation can provide (due to colder temperatures), some additional areas may experience an outage. We are doing everything we can to avoid this.

Customers can help manage load on the system by conserving where they can. Dialing back thermostats by just 1-2 degrees makes a big difference. Avoid doing laundry or running dish washers during this period and turn of lighting in rooms not in use.
