Burgeo Power Outage Advisory

January 26, 2017

Jan 26, 2:10PM – Power was restored to the community of Burgeo at approximately 2:10PM.  Thank you to our customers for their patience during this extended outage.  Our crews worked in difficult conditions to restore as quickly and safely as possible.

Jan 26, 8:30AM – Crews have identified several broken cross arms on the line serving Burgeo.  They are currently assembling new cross arms for the poles and will be working to install as safely and quickly as they can.

Power is estimated to be returned by mid-afternoon.  Updates will be provided if the situation changes.

Jan 25, 11:00PM – Newfoundland and Labradory Hydro is advising our customers in Burgeo that power will remain off overnight and into tomorrow.

Significant damage was found on the line caused by the severe freezing rain and wind.  The weather is preventing our crews from implementing repairs tonight.

Crews will complete a full assessment of damage at first light and begin repairs.  An update on estimated power restoration will be provided once the crew completes this assessment.

We understand that this is challenging for our customers.  Please stay safe – check on your family, friends and neighbours.
