Power restored in Natuashish

September 11, 2026

Power has been restored for customers in Natuashish as of 5:30 p.m.

With continued troubleshooting today, it was determined that a transformer issue at the arena was the cause of the outage. That issue has been isolated, and power was able to be restored for customers. Crews will fly to Natuashish tomorrow as soon as weather conditions allow to make necessary repairs.

Thank you to our customers for your patience and understanding today.

September 11, 2026 (3PM): Hydro is advising that power will remain off for some customers in Natuashish overnight tonight (September 11, 2026).

Approximately 150 customers in the area lost power around 12:45 a.m. Unfortunately, all flights into the community are cancelled for today due to weather conditions. We have a helicopter on standby to bring our crew to Natuashish tomorrow, as soon as conditions improve. Once they are in the area, they will investigate and confirm any repairs needed to restore power for customers.

We know that extended outages are difficult. Please stay safe – remember to only operate generators outdoors, use flashlights instead of candles, and check in with your friends and family.

We will provide a further update in the morning as more details are available.
