Plan Your Road Trip

We’re helping EV drivers get rolling across this great province. After all, road trips are all about recharging.

Fast Charging Network

In 2021, we completed the province’s first fast charging network for EVs. Today, there are 33 fast charging stations from St. John’s to Labrador City, with more to come by the end of 2025. EV drivers can now drive across the province knowing that they have access to fast chargers at convenient locations on the TCH and around Newfoundland and Labrador.

The electric vehicle (EV) chargers in our network are made by ChargePoint. To use these chargers, you’ll need to sign up for a free ChargePoint account, and have a ChargePoint card or a mobile device with the ChargePoint app installed.

Get ready for something new in the province’s EV landscape! We’re working with the provincial and federal governments to add 11 new Ultra-Fast chargers in the province in 2025. The new chargers will make EV travel easier for everyone in the province – with chargers at popular stops that will cut charging time in half, so you can get back on the road in the no time!

Plan ahead. Expect the unexpected.

Things like using continuous air conditioning or heating, very cold weather, and steep hills can decrease your range. Even with fast chargers located every 70 km on the TCH, it’s important to think about your trip in advance so you can better plan your stops along the way.

It’s best to plan your route and mark where you will be stopping to re-charge, just like you would plan where to have lunch or refuel.

Selecting a Charger

You can expect an efficient charge with the power to fast-charge your EV to 80% in under an hour – seeing you back on the road in no time! Each of our charging stations has:

A 62.5kW Direct Current Fast Charger where you can charge your EV with about 100 km of range every 15 minutes. That’s enough power to fast-charge most EVs to 80% in less than an hour.

Ultra-fast chargers on the TCH will be capable of supplying up to 350 kW to a single vehicle, or 175 kW for two vehicles simultaneously.

The Ultra Fast chargers in Conne River will be capable of supplying up to 180 kW to a single vehicle, or 90 kW for two vehicles at the same time.
