Update on Hydro employee injured at Holyrood Thermal Generating Station

April 13, 2015 – As an update to the information provided regarding an employee injured at the Holyrood Thermal Generating Station on Friday, April 10; Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) can confirm (with the consent of the employee’s family) that he is in serious but stable condition at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s.
The employee sustained burns while performing work on one of the thermal generating units.
The health and safety of employees and supporting their families comes first. When a serious incident occurs, it impacts everyone in the Company. Hydro is doing everything we can to support the injured employee, his family, first responders and employees at the Holyrood Plant.
Hydro’s investigation is underway and the Company will co-operate fully with Occupational Health and Safety, Service NL with their investigation.
