February 6, 2013, 3:30 p.m. – Newfoundland & Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is reporting power outages to some customers on the Great Northern Peninsula.
Approximately 500 customers in L’anse Aux Meadows, Hay Cove, Gunners Cove, Noddy Bay, Straightsview, St. Lunaire-Griquet and Quirpon remain without power at this time.
Crews are currently in the process of repairing damaged equipment in an effort to restore power to customers. If power is successfully restored, power will be rotated among customers in these communities in 2-3 hour spans. Rotating power will continue into tomorrow until full repairs are complete and the system is stable.
