Public Service Advisory – Update
December 30, 2014
Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is advising residents, cabin owners and travellers near its hydroelectric systems that all reservoir levels remain high and the rain experienced over the past day or so has created a requirement for additional controlled releases out of some reservoirs.
We are continuing to release water at the Star Lake Spillway into Star Brook and then Red Indian Lake in Central Newfoundland.
We are continuing to release water at the Granite Canal Bypass structure.
Note there is potential for releases of water at North Salmon Dam Spillway in to the North Salmon River in Central Newfoundland (within 24 to 48 hours).
Please use reservoir areas with great caution as water levels and flows are unpredictable.
