Public Safety Advisory – Rushy Pond Brook

June 5, 2015

June 5, 2015 – Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising boaters, kayakers and other users of the Exploits River that there will no longer be safe access to the Exploits River from Rushy Pond Brook.

The mouth of Rushy Pond Brook is being blocked as part of the remediation activities underway for Goodyear’s dam.

In addition, Hydro continues to remind residents, tourists, boaters and hikers to stay clear of water and river banks near Goodyear’s dam, located approximately 2 km upstream of the town of Grand Falls-Windsor (adjacent to the Grand Falls Golf Course).

Hydro is monitoring water levels and weather conditions and will provide updates to the public as necessary.
