Public Safety Advisory – Potential for Controlled Release of Water

July 6th, 2015

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is advising residents, cabin owners and travellers that there is still a potential for controlled release in the Jackson’s Arm and White Bay area on Newfoundland’s Great Northern Peninsula. The Company may again need to release water from its Cat Arm Spillway into the Cat Arm River.

The potential for releases at Star Lake in Central Newfoundland and Victoria Lake and Victoria River area in south western Newfoundland is over for now.

People are advised to use all reservoir areas with great caution as water levels and flows are higher than normal and may be unpredictable. Water releases at spillways could begin at any time.
