Hydro is advising residents, cabin owners and travellers in the Star Lake area of Central Newfoundland that the potential for releases of water at Star Lake is over for now.

People are advised to always use the area with great caution as water levels and flows are always unpredictable.


Update – July 12

Hydro is advising residents, cabin owners and travellers in the Star Lake area of Central Newfoundland that releases of water have ceased at Star Lake. There is still potential for the Company to release additional water at Star Lake Spillway into Star Brook and then Red Indian Lake.

People are advised to use the area with great caution as water levels and flows are higher than normal and may be unpredictable.


Hydro is advising residents, cabin owners and travellers in the Star Lake area of Central Newfoundland that releases of water have begun again at Star Lake. The Company is releasing water at Star Lake Spillway into Star Brook and then Red Indian Lake.
