Public Safety Advisory – Controlled Release of Water

December 16th, 2014

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is advising residents, cabin owners and travellers in the Star Lake and Granite Lake areas of Central Newfoundland that:

The Company continues to release water at the Star Lake Spillway into Star Brook and then Red Indian Lake.

The Company may be required to initiate a controlled release of water at the

Granite Canal Bypass Structure.

There is a potential for release of water at Granite Canal Spillway and the Granite Overflow Dykes along Burnt Dam access road into Grey River.

People are advised to use reservoir areas with great caution as water levels and flows are unpredictable.
