Public Safety Advisory: Be cautious around dams and hydroelectric facilities

February 9th, 2017

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is reminding the public to be safe around dams, dykes and hydroelectric facilities.

Fluctuating temperatures can cause changes in water levels and unstable ice conditions particularly near reservoirs, and unsafe conditions for activities such as snowmobiling and ATV’ing.

Please use extra caution in Hydro’s watersheds around the province.

Visit hydrosafety.ca for information on how to stay safe around dams and more on recreational safety.
