August 3, 2013 ‐ Public Safety Advisory ‐ Granite Canal and Grey River areas of Central and Southern Newfoundland
Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro wishes to advise that due to high water levels and recent precipitation, the Company may begin spilling water at the Granite Canal spillways and the Granite Canal bypass structure.
Flows over the spillways may cause the road to Burnt Dam to be washed out and become impassable to normal vehicle traffic. Water levels and flows in this area may become higher than normal, and people are advised to use great caution.
