Update (May 22nd, 4:15 pm) – Public Advisory: Weather conditions causing outages in central, west and Northern Peninsula

Update as of May 22, 4:15 p.m. – Power has been restored to all remaining communities affected by the weather-related outages this weekend.

Thank you to our customers for their patience during these outages. Our crews worked in difficult conditions to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

Update as of May 22nd, 10:00 a.m. – Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) crews continue working this morning to restore power to the remaining communities affected by the outages this weekend. At this time, we expect all communities to be restored by this afternoon.

As repairs are made, updated information and estimated restoration times will be made available on our outage map and on social media. Customers can also call our 24-hour customer service line at 1-888-737-1296.

Update as of May 21st, 10:30 p.m. – Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising customers in Round Harbour, Tilt Cove, Nipper’s Harbour and Purbecks Cove that power will remain off overnight.

Crews have been working through the day in difficult conditions to restore power for customers. Wintry weather caused several outages in the central region, west coast and on the Northern Peninsula.

While the majority of areas have been restored, crews are unable to complete repairs in these communities tonight. They will return at first light tomorrow morning to continue to restore customers affected by the outages.

Any customers still without power may be experiencing an isolated issue and should report it directly to our customer service team at 1-888-737-1296.

Update as of May 21st, 4:30 p.m. – Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) crews continue working to restore power in communities on the Baie Verte Peninsula, the Gros Morne region and the Northern Peninsula. Heavy snow and high winds this weekend caused extended outages for customers in these areas.

Additional crews have been brought in to assist with restoration efforts. Helicopter patrols will be carried out on transmission and distribution lines as weather conditions permit. This will help assess the full extent of damage and repairs required.
