Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is completing an emergency repair today at approximately 1:00pm to damage on a transmission line structure between Happy Valley Goose Bay and Churchill Falls.

Crews are working to complete this work without a power outage. However, if at any point the work is not able to be completed safely with the line energized, an emergency power outage may be required to complete the repairs.

If an outage is required, it is anticipated to take approximately 2-3 hours and will impact customers in the Upper Lake Melville area.

Hydro anticipates the work can be completed without a power interruption, however it is important for customers to be aware and to prepare for the possibility of a power outage.
