7:30PM – As part of our commitment to keep customers informed on the status of the electricity system, Hydro is reminding customers that all units at the Holyrood Thermal Generating Plant are offline for annual maintenance. As well, the Holyrood combustion turbine is currently offline. Hydro assures customers that it has sufficient power to meet customer demand.
In the unlikely event of severe weather or lightning which could potentially impact transmission lines into the Avalon, some customers on the Avalon Peninsula could experience power disruptions. Hydro will communicate with customers if such a scenario arises.
