Projects & Maintenance
Providing our customers with the best possible electricity service means continually investing in upgrading and maintaining our system. This includes conducting preventative and corrective maintenance and inspections, testing, and capital projects.
Everyone on our team works hard, day in and day out, to deliver reliable electricity service that meets our customers’ changing needs. Our engineers and system operators design and operate large and complex thermal and hydroelectric turbines. Our managers and supervisors make important decisions every day. And our frontline electricians, line crews, and mechanical maintenance teams tirelessly head out to work during winter storms.

Equipment outages
Transmission outages are posted in real time by the Newfoundland and Labrador System Operator (NLSO).
Other generation and transmission outages are reported daily to the Public Utilities Board (PUB).
Any equipment outages that could increase system vulnerability or public risk are published through customer advisories available in our news feed and on Twitter and Facebook.
Capital investment
To deliver the safest and most reliable service, we must regularly invest in upgrading and maintaining our provincial electricity system. Find out how we do this through our annual capital budget applications.
