UPDATE (Sept. 23, 1:15PM): Power Outage Advisory – Mud Lake

Update – 1:15 PM: Winds have subsided in the Upper Lake Melville area and our crew were able to safely travel to Mud Lake by boat.

Based on their initial assessment, we expect to have repairs completed and power restored for customers in approximately two hours (approximately 3:30PM).

Update – September 23, 9:45 AM: 

High winds continue this morning in the Upper Lake Melville area and, unfortunately, crews are still unable to travel to Mud Lake by helicopter or boat.

As soon as the weather improves, crews will begin patrolling the line and making necessary repairs to get power restored for customers.

September 22, 9:30 PM – Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising customers in Mud Lake that power will remain off overnight. Due to very high winds in the area, it is unsafe for crews to travel to Mud Lake tonight to complete necessary repairs.

We will assess the weather again at first light and crews will travel to the area as soon as it is safe.
