Power Outage Advisory – Goose Cove Customers

March 24th, 2016

UPDATE – 7:30AM March 24

Weather conditions are still very poor in Goose Cove and crews cannot yet attempt restoration.  Hydro is monitoring the forecast and winds are currently predicted to die down this afternoon.

Crews have identified the problem on the distribution line and are ready to respond as soon as weather allows.

Thank you again for your continued patience. Please stay safe.

Previous Advisory:

Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro advises that a power outage continues for approximately 100 customers in Goose Cove, on the Great Northern Peninsula.

Weather conditions remain very poor and it is therefore unsafe at this time for crew members to attemp restoration efforts. Customers should prepare for the potential of power being out overnight.

Please stay safe.

  • Report downed power lines and stay well away.
  • Check on friends and neighbours – and offer help if they need it.
  • Don’t use any propane appliances inside—the fumes can be toxic.
  • Don’t approach or touch any fallen power lines.
  • Don’t leave candles unattended and use proper candle holders.
  • Never use a generator indoors, only in well-ventilated areas to avoid the exhaust.
