January 19, 2013, 4:15 p.m. – Newfoundland & Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is reporting power outages to customers in Fogo Island and Southern Labrador.

Fogo Island
A line crew has been dispatched to investigate a fault in the Change Islands Terminal Station. Once the crew arrives, they will determine the exact cause of the fault and work to restore power. An exact restoration time is unknown at this time until crews arrive to the site. All customers on Fogo Island are currently experiencing an outage.

Southern Labrador
Power had been restored for all customers in Southern Labrador following a trip on the line providing power from the Hydro-Quebec generating plant. Hydro had brought all customers back online using its diesel generators and a mobile generator. While in the process of switching customers back to the main power supply from Hydro-Quebec, customers again experienced a power outage. Groups of customers in this region will slowly begin to have power restored over the next several hours.
