For your safety and convenience

To complete this work in a safe and timely manner, Hydro will deploy crews from across our operations to assist on site. Residents and visitors are asked to be aware of work activity, crews, and equipment/vehicles in the area.

Planned outages are necessary so that we can work safely on the electricity system. They allow us to conduct system upgrades, repairs, maintenance, new connections, and other work.  We realize that outages – even planned ones – are disruptive, and there is rarely a convenient time to have the power off to your home or business. At Hydro, we do our best to plan and schedule work to minimize disruption to our customers.

In planning these upgrades on Fogo Island, we’ve spoken to some key customers and Town officials, and scheduled most of the work outside of prime tourism season and peak operations at the fish plant.

Our objective is to keep the system running safely and smoothly so that we’re able to deliver electricity to customers reliably.

Changes

We try our best to keep the scheduled date, duration, and start/end times of a planned outage in place. If rescheduling is required (due to poor weather, for example), we’ll provide an update as quickly as we can, via our Facebook page, our website, and any other means we have available.
