Outage Update – Fogo Island, Change Islands, Farewell Head area

Update (8:00 AM) – Crews are continuing to patrol Newfoundland Power’s transmission line this morning to identify the issue causing this outage for customers in the area. The estimated restoration time continues to be noon today.

1:00 AM – Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro (Hydro) is advising customers on Fogo Island, Change Islands and the Farewell Head area that power will remain off overnight.

The outage affecting customers in the area was caused by damage to a Newfoundland Power transmission line in the area. Newfoundland Power crews have been patrolling the line throughout the evening, however given current conditions unfortunately they have not yet been able to locate the issue. Crews will continue to investigate throughout the night, however at this time, Newfoundland Power is estimating power will be restored by noon tomorrow (Thursday, November 15).
