Update – Outage Advisory: Power to remain off overnight on Change Islands

December 15th, 2020

Update – 10AM, December 16, 2020

The ferry is delayed this morning due to high winds, so our crews have not been able to get to the area to investigate and restore power. They are awaiting the ferry and will be on the way as soon as weather permits for safe travel. We will provide further updates as more details are known.

Previous (December 15, 2020 – 8PM)

For our customers on Change Islands, please be advised that power will remain off overnight tonight (December 15, 2020).

After attempting to restore power remotely this evening, the powerline tripped again and we were not able to get power back on for customers. Unfortunately, there is no further ferry tonight and crews are not able to travel to Change Islands until the morning.

Our crew are scheduled to be on the ferry tomorrow morning and are expected to arrive around 9:00 a.m. At that time they will investigate and complete repairs needed to safely restore power as quickly as possible.

Please stay safe – remember to only operate generators outdoors, use flashlights over candles, and check in with your friends and family.
