Advisory: Planned Outages on the Northern Peninsula, October 19 – OUTAGE TIME CHANGED TO 3PM-11PM

Important Update (as of 7:30 pm, October 18th):

After further consultation with community and business leaders, the decision has been made to adjust Thursday’s planned outage timing to 3PM-11PM. This allows school and business to be open on Thursday, while limiting the amount of nighttime work.

We appreciate all feedback we receive and are always working to balance the needs of our customers, while ensuring we get critical work completed for reliability.

Outage Details:

Thursday, October 19,  3PM to 11PM
This outage will include all customers in Anchor Point, Bear Cove, Deadman’s Cove, Eddies Cove East, Flowers Cove, Green Island Brook, Green Island Cove, Lower Cove, Nameless Cove, Pines Cove, Shoal Cove East, Sandy Cove, Savage Cove, Roddickton, Bide Arm, Englee, Conche, Main Brook, Croque, and St. Juliens.

This outage is needed so we can safely perform critical maintenance and equipment upgrades in several areas throughout the region. The work will help ensure we can continue to provide reliable service for our customers on the Northern Peninsula.

Work will take place at the Peter’s Barren, Plum Point, Bear Cove, Main Brook, Roddickton, St. Anthony Airport, and St. Anthony terminal stations. During the outage, Hydro will also complete distribution line upgrades in several communities to help reduce the need for future outages.

We understand the impact that these interruptions have on customers and we thank you for your understanding as we complete this important work on the electricity system.
