Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro St. Anthony Occupational Health and Safety Committee is named Committee of the Year

May 3, 2013, St. John’s, NL – Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro’s (Hydro) St. Anthony Occupational Health and Safety Committee (OH&S) has been named the Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Health and Safety Association’s (NLOHSA) Occupational Health and Safety Committee of the Year.

John Hollohan, Manager of Safety and Health, Nalcor Energy congratulates all the members of the St. Anthony Occupational Health and Safety Committee. “Executing work in a safe and healthy manner, ensuring all of our employees go home safely each and every day is our number one priority,” stated Hollohan. “All of our joint occupational health and safety committees play a critical role in our safety management system and the members of the St. Anthony Committee demonstrate a commitment to improving workplace safety and exemplify the importance and value of safety to our company.”

The Committee is made‐up of Clem Richards, Co‐Chair Employer Representative; Noah Smith, Co‐Chair Worker Representative; Dean Diamond, Worker Representative; Cory Simms, Employer Representative and John Hollohan, Leadership Team Sponsor.

“The award submissions are judged based on compliance, effectiveness and leadership. The St. Anthony Committee clearly demonstrated excellence in all three of these areas,” said Joe Lake, President, Newfoundland and Labrador Occupational Health and Safety Association. “I extend sincere congratulations to all the committee members and I encourage them to continue to be safety leaders in their field,” added Lake.
