January 28, 2013 – Darren Moore, General Manager of Transmission and Rural Operations will launch Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro’s new electricity education school resource, Power Your Knowledge, Tuesday, January 29 at 9:00 a.m. at Hazelwood Elementary, 391 Topsail Road in St. John’s.
The program is designed to educate youth on the importance of electricity, and how it’s generated and delivered to homes, businesses and institutions such as hospitals and schools. Most importantly, it teaches them how to be safe around electricity. Grade 6 students at Hazelwood Elementary will participate in a preview of the new website, activities and an electrical safety presentation.
