Ready when Needed: Hydro Lends a Helping Hand to Nova Scotians after Hurricane Dorian

In September, high winds from the remnants of Hurricane Dorian battered parts of the province, with gusts well in excess of 100 km/h in several places. As always, our employees answered the call and responded in very harsh conditions – working safely to restore service to customers on the south coast, the Northern Peninsula, and other locations.

But in addition to the effort here at home, on the heels of the storm, eight of Hydro’s Powerline Technicians travelled to Cape Breton, where they spent several days working to help our friends at Nova Scotia Power, who requested assistance with restoration efforts.

The response by our line workers and all involved is a great example of how we rise to the occasion when our customers and neighbours need us most. Kudos to everyone involved for being the energy we can all count on!
