Churchill Falls: the community behind the generating station

March 28, 2023

Operating the massive and renowned Churchill Falls Generating Station takes a dedicated and diversely skilled workforce to ensure the continued delivery of safe, reliable electricity day after day. But it also takes an equal amount of dedication and skill from support workers throughout the community.

Churchill Falls was born a company-owned town. It is managed and operated by Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro and is home to the proud and dedicated people who operate and support the generating station. Its purpose is to provide a safe, sustainable quality of life for employees and their families while also servicing the needs of the generating station. From municipal services, recreation, to an all-grade school and emergency response, town employees dedicate themselves every day to ensuring the community continues to thrive for all ages and interests to enjoy.
