Transmission Lines

« Back to Glossary Index

Transmission lines carry electric energy from one point to another in an electric power system. These types of lines allow larger amounts of power to flow safely across long distances – most often between our generation assets and the electrical substations that turn this power into the electricity you can use in your home or business.

Almost all of our transmission lines run above ground but three subsea cables connect our transmission lines running from Labrador to the island of Newfoundland.
