Get plugged in: learn more about our provincial electricity system

June 1, 2014

In recognition of National Electricity Month, Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is encouraging the public to learn more about the provincial electricity system through a variety of programs and events during June.

“As we move towards an interconnected grid, it is important for consumers to have a good understanding of the complexities of the system and how electricity is generated and delivered to homes and businesses across the province,” said Rob Henderson, Vice President of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro. “We are encouraging people to take a moment during Electricity Month to get engaged, to learn more about electrical safety, and also to think about how we can all collectively do more to conserve energy.”

The Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) has designated June as National Electricity Month. In communities across the country, CEA member utilities are using the month to share information about how electricity systems operate.
